Wine cellar under the stairs

Beyond Beige Interior Design. Image by Bemoved Media

Having your own dedicated space to store wine might seem like a luxury. But if you have open and empty space underneath your stairs, why not utilise it by popping in a wine cellar.

Having it under the stairs keeps the wine hidden from any direct sunlight for the ultimate temperature, and is generally more accessible.

To make it restricted for children and teenagers you can install a glass front with a small padlock - but remember to hide the key! You can even make it a feature in your interior design with the use of lighting, illuminating the bottles from the back.

Discuss options and designs with your local building expert - you might be surprise at how affordable it can be, plus it will leave more space in the fridge for food!
