A 21st Century Bathroom Renovation for a 1930s Bungalow in Sandringham

Renovation Consultant Anthony Bayne worked with this Sandringham homeowner to modernise the dated bathrooms in her 1930s bungalow. Her vision was to combine the main bathroom and adjacent powder room into a more spacious and functional space. She also had a unique design in mind for the upgraded interiors that would create a colourful yet sophisticated look.

The results are stunning. The new configuration features a large walk-in shower, a dark-toned timber vanity, and a beautiful colour scheme of deep teal and light grey. Modernising a 1970s Bathroom and Laundry in Wellington

Modernising a 1970s Bathroom and Laundry in Wellington

The leading objective of this renovation was to modernise both the layout and style of the interiors. As they were, the bathroom, powder room, and laundry of this 1970s home had remained stuck in their original era, featuring less-loved characteristics such as caramel coloured benchtops and dated linoleum flooring.

Mark Morrison and his team from Refresh Renovations managed the renovation from design to build, and the results are fantastic. All rooms have been transformed with a crisp white colour scheme, hardwood flooring, and reconfigured layouts that make the most of the space available.

Modern Meets Art Deco in Karapiro Ensuite

Modern Meets Art Deco in Karapiro Ensuite

This ensuite upgrade by Refresh Renovations was all about marrying old with new. As a 1920s villa, the Karapiro home had loads of character that the homeowner wanted to retain in their bathroom’s new design – but it also needed modernising. Renovation Consultant Steve Roper managed to bring the two styles together, creating a truly unique look.

A spacious shower now takes up the ensuite’s entire back wall where the previous bathtub had stood. Touches of art deco style such as the geometric mirror, patterned floor tiles, and decorative shiplap exist harmoniously among modern elements, including dual showerheads, copper tapware, and an oval basin.

A Unique Bathroom Design in Churton Park, Wellington

A Unique Bathroom Design in Churton Park, Wellington

This renovation involved completely upgrading the property’s bathroom and making additional improvements to the kitchen and front door. Throughout the process, Renovation Consultant Lia Boersma (from Refresh Renovations) worked collaboratively with the homeowner to ensure the outcome reflected their vision in mind – the results of which are stunning.

Of the upgrades, the bathroom’s renovation is undoubtedly the standout transformation. Unique tiling patterns were the focal point of this room’s design. Black and White and Anything but Plain

The owners of this home were happy with their kitchen’s layout but wanted to give it a contemporary upgrade, both stylistically and functionally. After reaching out to Refresh Renovations, they were introduced to local Renovation Consultant Wayne Gordon who undertook the entire process of renewing the space.

The results are stunning. A primarily white colour scheme has completely brightened up the room and contrasts beautifully with the striking splashback. New stone benchtops and sleek appliances provide significant functional improvements and contribute to the contemporary style. And while the design refrains from using pops of colour, the monochrome look is anything but plain.
